vmware tools?

The problem is very simple, once understood. The file is a "virtual file", it does not exist as an discrete file in the file system.  I did not grasp this at first.

Once one starts vmtools install, and is in the vm guest, one, with SLES10 anyway, one must manually mount the cdrom.  In a Virtual Instant, the files appear.
