That was spot on, thanks!
OES path has been awful. I know that many products has their flaws in many ways, but the problem here with Novell is that on Netware things DO work - on OES they don't. At the moment it should be the other way around as OES should be the holy grail like mentioned..
And what about the delays in release dates?
Bonsai seems to be one year late..
OES2 SP1 seems to be a late bird too..
Both of them (or their features) have been presented on the slides for a long time, still waiting for the releases.
I'm running out of excuses when asked about these.
Groupwise has promised many good things to the client *in the next version* for a long time. Heat is on.
iPrint on Linux, useless. Accounting, or even possibility to 3d party accounting has been requested for a looong time. Still waiting.
Domain Services for Windows is coming and coming.. we couldn't wait anymore, now we have AD in the works. And it seems that nothing is requiring eDir anymore in the future, maybe we can get rid of it in few years? Sure, now we start with "slave" AD but few years and it will turn the other way. Sounds a bit weird to an oldsk00l NW admin but maybe it makes sence.
I hope our OES2 efforts to keep up the good Netware services are not going to be useless in few years, with only native linux and windows solutions on the market.
