Move to 6.5/Open Office

You've probably heard me say this before Renee, but a 3 drive RAID
system will be 50% faster than a mirrored pair but with only 2/3 the
write speed. I've had to upgrade a number of systems where performance
appears adequate initially only to fall flat during significant events
- incoming mail floods, system restores, database maintenance, etc. By
acceptable I mean unusable, and the window of unusable can be however
long the hogging process takes. Save yourself some grief, get an extra
drive and configure them as RAID 10. Read performance will be 1/3
faster than your proposed system but writes will be 3 times faster.

Like the idea of using Retain & Reload. We used Reload for a while,
but the boss insisted we put it on some unsupported junk we couldn't
keep running. When the hardware worked it was great; I'd get it again
in a heartbeat.
